This review aimed to evaluate, through randomized controlled trials (RCTs), the dietary intake and its evolution after nutritional interventions on older adults with type 2 diabetes. An electronic search was performed in Pubmed and list of references from 2000 until May 2021 was made. Studies were eligible if 1) participants were only individuals with type 2 diabetes; 2) at least one outcome was related to dietary intake; 3) the study design was a randomized controlled trial; and 4) mean age of participants ≥ 55 years old.
